Giclée (jhee-clay) - French meaning 'to spray ink'.
A scanned image printed on a high resolution digital printer
making museum-quality giclee reproductions. They are very stable,
giving fade & color shift resistance of 75 to 150 years on
watercolor paper under average indoor light conditions.Using
our experience with archival products our process combines the
widest color range with the longest estimated life expectancy
in the industry. The combination of these unique inks, archival
papers, plus years of experience & careful craftsmanship,
result in prints of unmatched detail, color and durability. With the advent of the Giclee, the art of fine art printing has become even more precise. The technology provides incredible detail and brilliant color. Because no screens or printing plates are used, the resolution (DPI or dots per inch) is actually higher than traditional lithography which results in crisp contrast with rich, intense color. There is no visable dot pattern. Exact calculations of hue, value and density direct the ink. The artist's color approval and input are used for creating the final custom setting for the edition. At State Street Gallery your prints are crafted with the same care and dedication the artist puts into their original creations. The Giclee reproductions are a limited edition of 200 pieces
each numbered and signed by the artist to insure their collectability.
The edition includes l0 Artist Proof's which are available for
an additional $50.00 per proof. Home
