the Artists
Diane French
The award winning artist, Diane French was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Now, working from her La Crosse, Wisconsin based studio, her images capture the spirit of her original interpretation of the beauty that surrounds us. The inventor of this unique method, interference pigments, metallic pigments as well as natural and man- made pigments are used in the form of a loose powder by Diane to maintain their intensity. Diane presses these pigments by hand into the sanded grit of a 2- ply board. No brushes are used to create this wonderful original artwork, only the artists hands!
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of St. Francis, receiving a B.A. in Art and Sociology, Diane did graduate work in Art Criticism in Art Education and studied in Europe. She has seventeen years teaching experience, and resides with her three wonderful sons in Wisconsin.
Her work resides in private and corporate collections. Corporate collections (selected) include Hallmark Corporation, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Amoco Corporation, Williams Pipeline Corporation, Hyvee Food Corporation, Greentree Financial Corporation and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
